A FREE day of sport discovery for children!
On Saturday, June 16, 2012 Sport Calgary in partnership with Sport Organizations and Facilities throughout the city will host a day of sport discovery for children.
Parents may register their children aged 6 -12 in two sport discovery sessions during the day. These sport sessions provide a fun introduction to a variety of sport activities.
This is the fourth annual All Sport One Day. The event has grown from just over 400 children in our opening year to approximately 1,500 children last year. This year we are looking forward to up to 2,000 participants.
We hope to see you there!

Active For Life | Just as children need to be taught to read and write, they need to be taught how to run, jump and throw. After all, movement is a child’s first language, and our ability to move is the most fundamental means we have of interacting with our world. It’s called physical literacy. Because kids who have fun being active are more likely to stay Active for Life. |

So All Kids Can Play! | No kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport™ provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. |

Canadian Sport For Life | Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) is about raising our kids with quality sport and physical activity - so more of them can have the choice to use their skills to enjoy being active for the rest of their lives or train to compete in the Olympics. Two cornerstones of CS4L are the concept of physical literacy and the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. Through physical literacy children learn to move and LTAD continues skill development in the sport activities of their choice. |
