2000 Southland Drive SW Calgary T2V 4S4Southland Leisure Centre is one of the City of Calgary's world-class award winning 227,000 square foot multi-purpose recreation facilities. Since 1983, Southland has proudly served the citizens of Southwest Calgary positioning itself as a Family Active Living Centre and serving as a community hub for all ages. Southland has a spectacular waterpark, including a wave pool, dive tank, three exciting water slides, kiddies pool, hot tub, steam room and a fabulous Aqua Play structure, including water guns, slides and dump buckets. The pool also offers swim lessons and aqua fitness programs. Other key components are twin arenas, which offer public skating and shinny hockey, dry sports areas which includes a 7,000 square foot weight room, a 4,300 square foot fitness studio, multi-use rooms, gymnasium, rock climbing, gymnastics gym, racquetball and squash courts, Playhouse classrooms and a kinder room for preschoolers. Southland is also a destination for birthday parties, day camps and has babysitting available. Junior high students can come out for free after school activities Mondays to Thursdays between 3 and 6 pm and Friday 1 to 5 pm. Teens can also drop in for Friday night Teen Night that offers exclusive DJ dance room, sport hall, and use of public swim time for regular admission.
